Improvements

So far, this week is going better than last week. I did feel unwell for part of today, but I also finished the set of calculus exercises I had been working on and read part of the next section in my textbook. I’ve been hoping for a while to experiment with two study periods, one for calculus review and one more open-ended. That did not happen today but perhaps conditions will be favorable tomorrow or Wednesday.

  1. That’s good to hear that things have improved. Unfortunate that you’re not feeling well, hope that will pass soon. What areas would you be exploring in the more open-ended study period?

    1. The main purpose of the open-ended study period would be to provide time for conducting investigations and developing proofs: things like I’ve shared in the posts linked on the Highlights page. I would probably also spend some time working on review of proofs-based math subjects and reading about special topics such as the history of mathematics.

  2. I like the idea of two study periods, but having said that, I’ve never personally been disciplined enough to develop and maintain a schedule like that. You’ve done an amazing job so far, especially given where you started out. So be gentle with yourself if, you know,

    1. I think it is something to consider if and when the single study period becomes easier to maintain than it has been lately.
